Workshop - Introduction
Most women want a gentle birth in hospital or in a birthing centre. A few weeks before the due date (ET), the hospital bag is packed, the birth plan is drawn up and you register at the hospital for the birth. And as the due date draws ever closer, you anticipate the contractions that will announce that your little miracle is finally coming into the world. And what happens if nothing happens? Not every baby wants to be born on the due date. Some are in a hurry and come earlier (premature birth), others like to take their time. The natural time of birth therefore varies.
Induction of labour may be necessary between the 7th and 14th day after the due date.
In this workshop, midwife Katharina explains how you can prepare yourself and your body well for the birth in order to have a normal onset of labour to support you. The workshop will also provide you with tips in the event that you do medically initiated will.
