Take your time

Your body has achieved great things in the last few months. It has succeeded in moulding a small cell into a whole child. You nurtured it, carried it and gave birth to it. Now the little being is with you. It now needs you in a completely different way. Now your whole life and your whole body are changing. That takes time. You don't have to not have the best figure now. You don't have to run a top household now. You can now take your time to orientate yourself. Give yourself and your child patience during this transition phase. The change during this time is super fast. Enjoy every minute. It has passed so quickly.

Rest up

The birth was a high-performance sport for your body and now it is busy changing the hormones and healing the wounds. You are therefore in the middle of a recovery phase. Although you are not ill, you need to rest and take it easy. That's why this time is called "puerperium". You don't have to lie in bed for weeks on end. But you can spend as much time as you like in bed or on the sofa. The more time you take, the better off you and your baby will be. Don't have the best figure now. You don't have to run a top household now. You can take your time to orientate yourself. Give yourself and your child patience during this transition phase. The change during this time is super fast. Eat enough

The baby brings a lot of excitement and this affects many women's appetite. But take good care of yourself. Breastfeeding requires as much energy as if you were doing high-performance sport. You need enough fat, protein and carbohydrates to have enough energy to produce milk. Don't worry if you don't manage to sit at the table at mealtimes. Just eat while you breastfeed. If you put almonds on your bedside table, you will also have a healthy and nutritious snack at night.
